View the AHG ADULT and GIRL UNIFORM GUIDESThe AHG Uniform shows that you are a member of the American Heritage Girls! It’s not just another outfit in your closet, it’s something special to wear when you act as a representative of American Heritage Girls in your community. Families are to purchase uniform/gear directly from the AHG Store website - see the unit specific links below to understand what is required for uniforms and handbooks. Families should order their items by early-August to ensure that they are prepared to attend the first meeting with girls' uniform and handbooks! Uniform and Handbook prices are listed on the "Cost to Join" page.

Program Level (Unit) Specific Information

Pathfinders (ages 5-6)

Girls earn necklace beads for attendance, participation, and Bible verse memorization, while learning the four parts of the AHG Oath. They may earn the Fanny Crosby Award for completion of this level. Pathfinders wear the official Pathfinder uniform polo & navy knee-length skirt/slacks.

Tenderhearts (ages 6-9)

Tenderhearts earn achievement badges in any of the six 'Frontiers of Skill' and receive activity patches for participating in Troop activities or special events. Tenderhearts may earn the Sacagawea Level Award for achieving the highest level of skill and service at this level. Service stars (blue) are awarded for every 5 hours of community service and they may earn the religious award. Tenderhearts wear the official Tenderheart vest with a white polo & navy knee-length skirt or slacks.

Explorers (ages 9-12)

Explorers earn achievement badges in any of the six 'Frontiers of Skill' and receive activity patches for participating in Troop activities and/or special events. Service stars (red) are awarded for every 10 hours of community service and they may earn the religious award. The Lewis and Clark Level Award is earned by those girls who achieve the highest level of skill and service in this age group. Explorers wear the official Explorer vest, white polo & khaki/navy knee-length skirt or slacks.

Pioneers (ages 12-14)

A Pioneer continues to earn achievement badges, service stars (white), the religious award, and activity patches. The highest award level for Pioneers is the Harriet Tubman Level Award. The Pioneer level is where girls really begin to show leadership skills by assisting their leaders with planning, organizing, and staffing special AHG events in the community or within their Troop. Pioneers wear the official Pioneer sash, AHG white polo & khaki/navy knee-length skirt or slacks.

Patriots (ages 14-18)

The Patriot is the highest program level in AHG. These girls plan and carry out activities with Unit Leaders who function as “facilitators,” allowing girls to make decisions on a regular basis. As with lower levels, they too earn achievement badges, service stars (yellow), religious awards, and activity patches. Since the girls are older, they are required to demonstrate the highest level of skill in all areas. The level award for the Patriots is the Dolley Madison Level Award, but Patriot girls may go above and beyond to earn the highest honor of the American Heritage Girls: the Stars and Stripes Award. Patriots wear the official Patriot sash, red polo & khaki/navy knee-length skirt or slacks.
